The Institute for Health Care Risk Management Education offers a fully online certificate program designed to provide nurses, case managers and other healthcare professionals with the knowledge necessary to administer internal risk management and patient safety compliance programs.
The Healthcare Risk Management Certificate program provides the training necessary for participants to comply with the requirements in Florida Law to demonstrate competence in all of the following areas:
(a) Applicable standards of health care risk management.
(b) Applicable federal, state, and local health and safety laws and rules.
(c) General risk management administration.
(d) Patient care.
(e) Medical care.
(f) Personal and social care.
(g) Accident prevention.
(h) Departmental organization and management.
(i) Community interrelationships.
(j) Medical terminology.
The program consist of three online modules and includes online readings, short video clips, website field-trips and engaging online learning activities. No textbook is required.
Module 1: General Risk Management Administration, Departmental Organization and Medical Terminology
Module 2: Federal, State and Local Laws Rules, Community Interrelationships and Accident Prevention
Module 3: Applicable Standards of Patient Safety, Principles of Malpractice Insurance, Conduct of Malpractice Litigation
